Masters rowing

Masters Rowing (formerly known as Veterans’ Rowing) is for anyone aged 27 or over.  Usually for those who are of a more ‘mature’ age, Masters Rowing is becoming increasingly popular amongst 27-35 year olds who want to return to the sport but don’t want to return to training 10 times per week.

The Masters squad at Tyne United is thriving with many of our members coming into our club through our Learn to Row courses. We have a great mix of all levels of experience which creates an enthusiastic and competitive group.

Some of our Masters are amongst the most competitive at their level in the North of England and compete and win regularly at events in the North East, Yorkshire and Scotland.

The club ensures that all squads get coaching and for many of our members, one of the appeals of Tyne United was this belief that you won’t be left to work it out for yourself and that you’re never too young to learn something new!

Tyne United Rowing Club caters for those Masters who want to take part in competitive sweep boats or those who want to head out and develop their sculling skills in a single.
