Daytime rowing

Tyne United Rowing Club was one of the first clubs in the North East to specifically cater for daytime and recreational rowing. We have a large fleet of recreational rowing boats in the North East and we have been actively promoting recreational rowing in Gateshead since 2009.

Tyne United Rowing Club is an accredited British Rowing “Explore Rowing Pioneer Club”. This means that cater for and actively promote recreational and non-competitive rowing and provide opportunities for members from other Explore Rowing Accredited Clubs who have been through one of the British Rowing Learn to Row courses to use our recreational fleet.

If you fancy learning to row during the daytime, or even have the chance to get out on the water on a morning rather than an evening or weekend, then come down and see what we can offer.

There is a growing and thriving daytime rowing group developing in the club, which is accessible and friendly to all. Even if you don’t fancy getting your feet wet in the Tyne, there’s the opportunity to use the indoor rowing machines and also our brand new indoor rowing tank.
